MEGAN AVINA BOWERS Taos Integrated School of the Arts - Arts Curriculum Coordinator and Teacher
Megan brings an endless stream of imaginative project based learning to TISA. Her kids write the weekly TISA TALKS in the Taos News and she is always ready to take on a social cause with her kids.
NATHANIEL EVANS Taos Charter School -Science Teacher
Nathaniel Evans is a native Taoseno and has enjoyed working at Taos Charter School since 2004. Every year he engages his students in the STEMartsLab @The Paseo workshops, working collaboratively with all teachers in the school to create a school wide experience.
Carla Chavez Taos High School- Biology teacher
Carla Chávez, a science teacher at Taos High School, recently joined the ranks of a small but growing group of nationally distinguished educators. Chávez is now one of only five National Board Certified Teachers in the Taos Municipal School District. She hosted the Projecting Particles series at THS in partnership with ATLAS Experiment at CERN.
Erika Zito Questa High School - High school teacher
Erika Zito is a Science teacher at Questa High School. She hosted the Matter of memory workshop for PASEO 2016, engaging Questa kids in a unique mobile app exploration of a town and its memories.
Peg Bartlett Roots and Wings- Director/Teacher
Peg is a founder of the Roots and Wings community School and is also an active teacher and supporter of STEAM projects. Peg drives her kids all the way from Questa to be a part of The STEMarts@The Paseo workshop and festival.
Tracy Galligan Taos High School- Business/ Computer teacher at
Tracy initiates innovate projects at Taos High School including the Supercomputing Challenge. This year students have taken on the design of an App for The PASEO festival 2017.
Siena Sanderson Arts Educator and Activist
Siena works tirelessly to create art opportunities for underserved communities of Norther New Mexico, such as her smART House project. She collaborated with a team to create the Science of Glow project at Paseo 2015 and the Shine On! Maker activity at Paseo 2016.
Claireen Espinoza Taos Pueblo Day School- Middle School Teacher
Claireen hosted Dine artist, Bert Benally in her classroom at the Taos Pueblo. Students collaborated with the artist to make an interactive LED Navajo sand painting for the festival.
STEMarts Lab Educational Partners
STEMarts Lab is based in Taos New Mexico and services Middle and High schools and educational organizations in Taos County. We also travel nationally and internationally to bring STEMarts programming to schools, communities or coordinate special STEAM events.
