About Space Messengers:
Step into a world where real and virtual experiences merge in an immersive and educational journey that brings art and science to life and inspires hope in the next generation. Space Messengers is a participatory mixed reality (MR) installation that visualizes thought-provoking reflections on the universe, encouraging participants to contemplate their role within it. Space Messengers serves as a powerful tool to ignite scientific curiosity and critical thinking, while evoking a sense of wonder through the fusion of art, science, and technology. This socially engaged art initiative evolves from an international collaboration among artists, scientists, interdisciplinary experts and youth ambassadors. Its overarching mission is to develop our artistic, scientific, and humanistic literacy. Together we explore how the arts, humanities, philosophy, physics and space technologies can deepen our understanding of the universe and expand our identities as planetary citizens. The STEMarts Ambassador program allows students to participate as Experience Guides in the culminating Space Messengers installation at festivals. They run the VR and interactive stations, developing leadership and 21st century skills.

Youth Ambassadors from Escola Secundaria Sebastiao in Portugal and Austrian students will participate as Experience Guides at the event running the interactive stations and sharing their experiences.

Students from the following schools have participated in Space Messengers workshops contributing their space messages to the traveling installation. Taos Integrated School of the Arts, Santa Fe Indian School, Taos Day School, Albuquerque High.(USA), Universidad de Guadalajara Prepa#5,  Escuela Preparatoria San Jose del Valle, Universidad de Guadalajara (Mexico).
